The kids are alright

Break one racquet, get 2 free

Neelers broke her racquet the other day. If you've ever played her you'll know the power that breaks racquets in her shots. Ms.Neelers returns Liquid (broken) Metal to its maker, and what do you know, she gets 2 new twin racquets by return mail. And here's the photo to prove it. Posing with twin racquet is Ms twin, Danika.

No more lactic acid trips!

Paco has finally run out of excuses!

The last time Paco lost to Daruwalla, he came up with the most novel excuse - lactic acid build-up from a week or working out. The humiliation of losing eight straight games (some to zero)was too much for Paco to bear - so last night he came with the intent to dominate. And he did at first - poor Daruwalla is a slow starter so he got killed 10-9, 9-6, 9-1.

That was too much for Daruwalla to take - so he went and ingested some of his home-brewed energy potion. After that the tables were turned. Paco huffed and puffed but Daruwalla got the better of him in the next three games 9-2, 9-1, 9-2.

With the games at 3-3, Paco decided to go for broke and proposed a 7th for BEER. Daruwalla, true to his name and reputation, agreed to take him on. Paco stepped on to the court a different man. For the first few points, he actually ran from end to end - but in the end it was a 5-9 loss for the former 4.0 champ and a jug of beer for Daruwalla.

Memoirs of a Squash addict

We wish you a Merry Tournament: Dec 21, 2005
A small and cozy tournament organized by Bryan : one of the many favourite squash Pros you will be hearing about in our world of squash. Bryan always has very creative ideas in setting up tournaments, depending on the skill level, personality, drinking capacity etc. of each player. The only requisite for this tournament was an un-wrapped toy. It was just a few days before X'mas, so the turnout was small. So Bryan sets us up with the point-a-rally knock-out scoring system. My first opponent Jean (of at least 3.875
and above, fame). I look at Bryan: He goes " There is a bottle of wine open for you all, you can start when you like"
As always, the tournament was a huge success. After Jean I got to play Liz M. who was a bit easier on me, I think that was because she was already quite merry. And Jean kicked everyone's butt and won the prize: a nice red pair of adidas shoes. The end..

My Squash Anniversary

Hello Squashers!
I'm happy to be the first to create a squash blog. The first thing that I can think of writing about is when I started to play squash. That would be the Summer of 2002. So I am celebrating my 4th this year. I'm curious (as every Squasher is) to know how long you've been at it. So do write in and let me know your anniversary.
cheers
